Vitamin C Therapy
At Natural Healing Pet Care, we offer intravenous (IV) vitamin C therapy in two distinct forms: one is designed to promote healing and enhance your pet's overall well-being, while the other specifically targets cancer cells to help fight the disease. What to Expect

Low-dose IV Vitamin C treatments are infused over a 1 hour timeframe.

High-dose IV Vitamin C treatments are infused over a 3-4 hour timeframe.

Your pet can eat and take medications or supplements as usual prior to the infusion unless otherwise directed for blood work we may perform pre-treatment.

Your pet will be hospitalized with us for the duration of the treatment. We have private rooms available if you prefer to remain with your pet.

If we feel your pet is too stressed away from you during the process, we will require you to stay. The emotional comfort of your pet is just as important to us as is the physical benefits of the treatment.
What to Look for Post Procedure:

Both increased drinking and urination are common after the infusion.

Diarrhea, vomiting, change in eating habits, or any unusual behavior may indicate a need to adjust the next infusion dose.

Your pet can eat and take medications or supplements as usual, unless otherwise directed.

If multiple infusions are planned in a week, we may leave the IV catheter in place. It will be wrapped and will need to stay clean and dry. Your pet may need to wear an e-collar at home.
The Process

Your pet will have an intravenous (IV) catheter placed, usually in a front leg, but occasionally a back leg is used. We prepare the site by shaving the fur and cleaning the skin.

Once placed, the IV catheter is covered with a wrap that is placed around the leg to protect the area and ensure it stays in place.

An e-collar will need to be worn for additional protection if your pet becomes too interested in the IV catheter area.

Occasionally, a pet will do better if you are here with them for the treatment. In these cases, after placing the IV catheter in our large treatment area, we will set you up with them in a private room for the duration of the infusion.

Sometimes an IV catheter doesn't work and this causes a slight delay in the infusion. It can become blown, which means the fluid is leaking outside of the vein, and will need to be replaced. Any fluid that may accumulate under the skin is not harmful and will dissipate over several hours or days.

High Dose Vitamin C
High dosage vitamin C becomes an oxidative therapy and is used as a tool for treating cancer.
The role of High Dose Vitamin C in cancer treatments:
During cancer, high dose vitamin C is absorbed by the tumor cells causing cell death. It inhibits new blood vessels from growing, limiting the tumor’s ability to grow and metastasize. Additionally, vitamin C will promote collagen growth, which creates a wall around the tumor cells, preventing the growth and spread of the harmful cancer cell invasion.
