Meet the Doctors

Meet Dr. Nicole LeVeque

Dr. Nicole LeVeque earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 2000. Throughout her career, she has sought out healing modalities and advanced training that support and harness the body’s innate wisdom to promote healing and overall well-being.

Dr. LeVeque completed her veterinary acupuncture certification through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 2003, where she had the opportunity to work extensively with Dr. Steve Marsden. She continued her herbal medicine training with Dr. Marsden through the A Time to Heal Herbals course in 2010. In 2012, she earned her certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation through The Healing Oasis.

Most recently, Dr. LeVeque completed an intensive, year-long certification program in Integrative Oncology with Dr. Kendra Pope, a board-certified veterinary oncologist. This training has allowed her to bring together the many integrative tools and healing modalities she has developed throughout her career to provide a comprehensive, individualized approach to patient care.

Dr. LeVeque is also passionate about education and mentorship. She has had the privilege of mentoring numerous veterinarians and veterinary students pursuing certification in veterinary acupuncture, helping them develop confidence and practical skills in incorporating acupuncture into their clinical practices.

Dr. LeVeque shares her home with her dog, Yoshi, and two cats, Clyde and Dewey. She also has a special love for rescuing rabbits, an affection that brings her back to the same sense of awe and wonder she felt for animals as a child. That childlike love and reverence for animals has never left her. She believes animals have a remarkable way of keeping us young, grounding us in the present moment, and reconnecting us with something deep within ourselves—something that can be felt more than it can be explained.

Meet Dr. Sarah Wentela

Dr. Sarah Wentela grew up in Michigan and spent much of her free time in 4-H, pet sitting, and volunteering at local animal shelters. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Aquinas College. She then went on to St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies to pursue a dual degree Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Masters of Public Health. She completed her final clinical year at The Ohio State University in January 2022. While in veterinary school, she also completed veterinary acupuncture certification through Chi University.

Dr. Sarah Wentela began shadowing Dr. Nicole as an undergraduate. She worked at Natural Healing Pet Care during her breaks from veterinary school. She is thrilled to be back in Michigan and is excited to share her compassion and holistic outlook. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Sarah enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She currently resides in Warren with her cat Jade.
